W2S1: Research - Overseas News Websites

I like the un-cluttered structure of the featured articles. But where is the navigation bar?

I like the simplicity of the header with it's logo, site name, site navigation and extras icon all in a line. I feel like the content should be centred as the page is very heavy on the left.

I like how each section (on the navigation bar) has it's own accent colour. I feel like the search bar is quite large and dominates the header. I like how there's a feature article and then the top article in every section (as well as the overall top stories links).

I like that there is only one accent colour (except for the slightly darker shade of this colour which is used to show which section the user is in). I like how the date, site header, and search bar are centre aligned. I also like that there is only one feature article and it stretches the entire width of the page.

I like the colour scheme of this site - black, white and red. I like how on the home screen there is one feature article and a list of top stories.

This is a parody news website. But that aside I really like the clean design. There's lots of white space and the feature articles don't feel too cluttered on the page. I like the logo/site heading and the fact that it has a sub-heading.
